Concept
Raw Tone
The ESSENSE Collection began with a simple goal: to create a keyboard that highlights a single material: aluminum.
To achieve this, we stripped away anything that might distract from it. No legends. No screens. No unnecessary details.
Each keycap is left in its natural tone, allowing the aluminum to speak for itself. The surface reflects light softly, revealing the character of the metal rather than covering it up. It’s a celebration of material honesty.
Design
Sculpted Metal
Without the distraction of printed letters, the attention shifts entirely to form. The keycaps are shaped to balance softness and precision. A gentle slope flowing down from the chamfer, paired with wide-angled corners that give each piece a sense of symmetry.
The surface is first sandblasted and acid-etched, giving it a fine, matte texture. A secondary machining and polishing process then exposes the chamfered edge, turning it into a mirror-like highlight that catches and bends light from every angle. The result is a dynamic contrast between satin and shine. A balance that defines the look and feel of the ESSENSE Collection.
Technical
Molded Stems
The ESSENSE Collection builds on what we learned from our previous projects.
The earlier all-metal stems were visually striking but caused wear on switch stems over time. For this collection, we developed a new hybrid structure: a machined aluminum body fitted with a precision-molded plastic stem.
This design preserves the premium metal feel while improving long-term durability and compatibility with most mechanical switches.
